PARTNERING TO PROMOTE DIVERSITY
Since 1997 we have partnered with NYU's Center for Multicultural Education and Programs (CMEP) to increase the number of diverse applicants who score in the top percentiles of the LSAT. The scholarships awarded through CMEP are intended to encourage access to effective preparation for the entire NYU community, so they are not based on any specific criteria, because we believe that any solution to problems caused by difference are best solved by de-emphasizing differences. Our goal is to take the Affirmative Action dialogue in a new direction, where access is the central issue. Educational success is directly proportional to access to resources. Hence, access to effective test preparation may be the quickest solution to any perceived differences in test scores. The record breaking LSAT improvements achieved by our diverse student body prove the point that tests are simply numbers, and that those numbers can be changed
Our mission is consistent with CMEP's mission: to provide educational programs that support the goals and address the challenges of students from culturally diverse backgrounds. Diversity is an essential element of intellectual advancement. Law schools recognize this need for diversity and continue to factor diversity into their admissions despite the tense legal climate surrounding Affirmative Action.
To obtain a scholarship, NYU students & alums must submit an application. For more information call 888-884-LSAT or email firstname.lastname@example.org
