OUR MISSION: BOOSTING LSAT SCORES & DIVERSITY
Our track record shows that test scores are malleable and that LSAT preparation can change lives. Every day we prove this by raising the scores of our student body, and partnering with Law Schools & Universities in order to increase diversity in the legal profession
Since The Binary Solution is a complete and general solution that can be mastered by anyone, the course has always offered a way of protecting academic diversity in a political climate that routinely turns hostile towards Affirmative Action. The refinement of Binary Solution in the 1990's came at a time when anti-Affirmative Action cases were being filed against Law Schools, specifically Hopwood v University of Texas Law School and its progeny (culminating in a temporary injunction of the entering class of the University of Michigan Law school, in a case that reached the Supreme Court).
Since 1991, our theoretical solution has found a practical application in diversifying law schools. In 1995, the Dean of Admissions at Columbia Law School (CLS) invited our founder, Eva Lana Silver, JD, to teach the course at Columbia Law School, due to its enormous success with Columbia students from all backgrounds. While at CLS, Ms. Silver developed the first Casebook for the LSAT which combined legal pedagogy with LSAT preparation. As a result of its academic origins and the inter-disciplinary research skills of our founder, Binary Solution began to take its shape, not just as an LSAT course, but as an approach to legal reasoning. Thus, our LSAT theory provides all students with a competitive advantage in law school, as well as a way of getting into law school by obtaining high marks on the LSAT.
In 1997 we partnered with NYU's CMEP (Center for Multicultural Education and Programs) to establish a long-standing scholarship program for all NYU students. In 2001, the National Black Law Students Association (NBLSA) chartered our mission to diversify law schools. In 2007, the NJCU School of Continuing Education made Binary Solution a course and our Founder an adjunct professor to ensure that its diverse students received effective LSAT preparation.

BINARY SOLUTION PARTNERS WITH LAW SCHOOLS TO CREATE PIPELINES TO JUSTICE
In 2006, Binary Solution, in partnership with CUNY Law School, created the first successful Law School Pipeline Program in the nation. The Dean of CUNY Law School was among the first to acknowledge the value of Binary Solution as a foundation for legal reasoning, since Binary thinking increases the speed of "left brain" skills, which in turn, enhances performance in law school and even on the bar exam.
In 2019, Binary Solution joined New York Law School's Inaugural Pipeline Program, which seeks to recruit students of color before they graduate from college.
Since its inception, Binary Solution has been a useful societal remedy because it seeks to change the students, not the standards. Every LSAT point gained by a diverse student takes us one step further from the need for Affirmative Action, and makes our LSAT course a positive way to achieve legitimate social and intellectual goals. Currently, Binary Solution is developing an initiative known as #BlackBench which seeks to diversify the courts be preparing law students and alums of our LSAT program for judicial appointments.
