PIPELINES TO JUSTICE

LAW SCHOOL PIPELINE PROGRAMS DIVERSIFY ADMISSIONS BY TRAINING STUDENTS TO SCORE WELL ON LSAT
Binary Solution provides LSAT instruction and pedagogical methods for New York Law School's Pipeline Program which was launched in June 2019.  

From 2007 to 2011, Binary Solution successfully trained five classes of Pipeliners to achieve high LSAT marks for the CUNY Law School Pipeline to Justice (PTJ) Program.  As a result,  CUNY Law School was able to diversify its class without compromising its standards.

Pipeline programs are based upon a model that was first suggested
in 1998 by our founder, Eva Lana Silver, JD. 

 To ensure the success of the Pipeline program, CUNY Law School selected Binary Solution to spearhead its  LSAT prep  for the following reasons (quote taken directly from the letter of agreement between Binary Solution & CUNY Law School, Section on Justification of Sole Source):
            "Eva Lana is the only person who can deliver the services and materials required. Although there are many other commerical LSAT preparation courses, the Binary Solution materials are the only ones that fit the philosophy and delivery requirements of CUNY School of Law's Pipeline to Justice Course for the following reasons:

• It is the only course that was designed to use the LSAT preparation process as a foundation for legal reasoning and analysis skills,
• It is the only course that uses a single Casebook (patterned on law school casebooks) as its materials
• It is the only course that uses law school pedagogy in its content and delivery
• It is the only course in which all the materials, including those annotated and developed in the classroom, are available digitally to the students"

In its very first year, the majority of CUNY's PTJ students raised their LSAT scores enough to gain admission to CUNY Law School on the merits. The historic PTJ Program was the first controlled study of real LSAT improvement because everyone in the sample had an official score on record (rather than a practice test-- which is how most average score improvement claims are generated). Moreover, the test results were compiled and reviewed by a law school, and eventually presented to the academic legal community.

​In 2008. PTJ and Binary Solution were awarded the Class Gift by the graduating CUNY Law School for the program's contributions to academic diversity.
